Relax in the rustic charm of our heritage-listed 1860s inn, nestled in the bush on top of Hervey Range. We're a scenic drive up the range from Townsville's western suburbs, and a favourite stop for a weekend breakfast, a day trip or a Sunday drive.
Come for an all-day breakfast or a toasted lunch, stay for house-made scones with jam and cream, a proper coffee, or a pot of loose leaf tea in the garden.

The Tea Rooms are housed in the former Eureka Hotel, built around 1865. It's one of the few timber slab-sided inns still standing in Australia, and one of the oldest buildings in North Queensland.
In the 1860s the inn gave travellers a place to rest as they climbed the range through Thorntons Gap, heading west from the coast. More than 150 years on, it's still a place to stop, put the kettle on and take in the bush.

We're about 30 km from Townsville at 37 Thorntons Gap Rd, on top of Hervey Range. It's a scenic drive of around 25 minutes from the western suburbs.
Walk-ins are welcome, but weekends get busy, so we recommend booking a table online or calling 0403 578 023.
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 1pm, and Friday to Sunday 9am to 2pm. We're closed on Tuesdays and all public holidays.
Yes. Our full menu, including breakfast, is available all day while we're open.
Yes. Several dishes are vegetarian, our corn and zucchini fritters are gluten free, and gluten free bread is available. Ask us about gluten free dessert options on the day.
